Thatâs hilarious!!The old me would have suggested to put the rings in a bag with dog doo, shake really hard
and give him the bag.
The new me would never suggest that.

I suppose the rings ensure that you get your stuff back safely. It is in the paperwork that he gets them. We are going to sign a statement saying that I did give the rings back and we both will sign and have witnesses⌠Iâm sure he will not be alone. Friend is also going to video transaction. Those rings are the only thing âowedâ to him and I am going to make sure he isnât foolish.
Tomorrow morning we pick the stuff up. We are going out to dinner and have a couple of drinks Saturday night and Sunday, after Mass, we are going to vedge out on the beach. Oh and shopping, because a girly mini vacay has to include some shopping.![]()
I work with a woman who threw her rings into the woods.I was going to throw them off the side of a mountain. Seriously. Glad I waited. Lol
Kendra, I join the other posters in commending you for the way you have handled this. I probably would NOT be as charitable to a guy who did what this loser did to you.It is in the paperwork that he gets them. Sounds like a win-win.Seeing him was liberating for me and extremely painful for him.
Iâm glad you got your stuff back successfully and itâs all over!It went OK. He showed up with his mom and step dad
I got everything except my granddaddyâs iron skillet, my senior year softball blanket, and my confirmation certificate. When we got back to our cars he asked for the rings and I told him that Iâm not giving them to him until I get back what is mine and that I would be here until Monday. He was furious, but his mother actually understood where I was coming from. I also didnât take everything that I could have, just my belongings and heirlooms and I pointed that out. 2 hours later he was calling me with my things. My friend had to literally take them from him. He was clinching onto them.
I know his mannerisms and what they mean. When heâs uncomfortable and wants my help he gives me this little half smile.
Well the last image I have of him is giving me that look with pain in his eyes. Seeing him was liberating for me and extremely painful for him.
Same here.Oh, I would give them back and be done with him. I wouldnât even want to keep them! You are right, bad history in those rings.
Kendra, be the strong woman you are, and get your things out of there and your life will be moving in the right direction. Glad to hear that you will have a friend with you for support.
Prayers offered for a safe trip, no confrontation, and peace.
Considering the evidence that those pretty things may be "Mordor"s rings, the volcano might be the best end for them, but maybe the third time will be different. One can hope. I am sure Kendra would not wish what she has been through on an enemy. You are a better person that I am. I would have pawned those rings and told him I threw them in the volcano and MordorâŚ
But I will be praying for you.
Trading the rings that symbolize two failed marriages for a pan that can be used to make skillet cornbread sounds like a good swap to me!It went OK. He showed up with his mom and step dad

Not only skillet cornbread but a good pineapple upside down cake.Considering the evidence that those pretty things may be "Mordor"s rings, the volcano might be the best end for them, but maybe the third time will be different. Maybe after Purgatory you can have the kind of meeting you deserve from him in Heaven. Until then, better that someone who would take advantage for himself at the expense of your harm is not in a position of trust any more.
Iâm so sorry youâre having to go through this. However, it sounds similar to a situation a friend of mine went through, complete with mommy & daddy tagging along. In her case, he found out the grass isnât always greener before the final exchange of belongings. I think he held onto the last of her things for two years before she finally gave up and sold the rings and whatever else she had left.It went OK. He showed up with his mom and step dad

He is 30 years old. Yep, a 30 year old, who has been on 3 deployments, 2 to the middle east, had to have mommy with him (lawyer was in her town, Iâm sure she did most of the work with that) and pitched a fit when I put my foot down.Just curious, Kendra. How old is your ex? He seems to act like a teenager.
