Yes still single here and boy it would be nice just once to have a another opinion to knock ideas against, a friendly hug now and then, a body to come to, someone to go out with, someone to plan with or just somebody to talk to.

I guess I’m not the only one who wishes for any of the above…would be nice though. 👍

My son Alan wishes for these things. He doesn’t realise how charming his smile is…but has became too shy of dating!

I understand and share your frustration. So tell me, are you a man, woman, how old are you? Can you marry in the Church? 😉

A woman…or so I’ve been told. lol
Age well you know better then to ask a women that 😉
Can I marry in the church…? Unless there’s some new rules I don’t know about yes…

I am also single.
Hey lets turn this into a dating thread LOL

I am an exJw, and getting baptised
hopefully this easter. I can be honest about why I am not married, its because I only grew up around women who are Jehovah’s witnesses and Im trying to get out of the cult.

Is there any particular reason why you are not married? Do you meet
the wrong people?

Yup a “meet the singles” thread it is!

I am a man, a convert, 47. I am divorced and have received a deliaration of nullity and I am eligible to marry in the Church. Note my profile and signature. I attend Mass every Sunday, and often during the week. If you love the outdoors, that is a real plus.

Oh, since this is the 21st century, I think it is important to point out that I am interested in women. 😛

I just started a thread about this.

Anyway I am 30 and I have never been married. And I don’t have any children, although I love children.

I am an ex Jehovah’s witnesse,
and I like movies and music and family activities as well as supporting church activities.

I will be baptised catholic this easter. And I would like a wife that
is serious about her faith…what’s up with all the cusing I hear out of Catholic women? Me don’t likey LOL

Hey you gota give us a hint on your age, or you could have people from 18 to 60 responding LOL

And your gender?

And yes, I do not like profane language. It is painful for me to hear. If a woman cannot talk like a lady, I think I would pass on by. And of course a real gentleman (like me) would never use coarse language either.

Are the only two choices Married and Alone?

I am cast adrift up here in darkest Kanukistan and would love to have COMPANY now and then (save for my faithful friends from the States.)

Are there any Eastern Canadians on this Board who are not absolutely militantly against visiting anyone whose grandmother did not attend the same private school as yours, who would like to come over and spend an afternoon listening to good music and talking about Subjects?

I’m happily married but jumping on the thread to say I wish you all well. I’ll be happy to be your chaperone for this on-line exchange of information. 😃

I’m just the right age for marriage according to my father. 😃 :o lol…alright I’m around forty that’s as close as you’ll get.

Dear OP,

I hear you! You aren`t alone. I am in in my early thirties and am still trying to find where all the “good single Catholic men” are located. Sometimes, I see attractive men praying by themselves at Church and I wonder where they are hiding when they are not at Church. LOL.

Keep praying. It is the best thing we can do.

Sincerely,

Maria1212

Hah. I have the same feeling. On some days, especially evenings, I can barely avoid getting stunned (and putting this down visual attraction would be like calling the sun a yellow light bulb) in church. And then I think I’m not going to look anywhere else (but in this case, church changes into Church with a capital “c”). This has happened in my most depressed moments.

But it doesn’t change my condition. Or rather it does, but in less visible ways. Of this I’m sure. Though I don’t really get what’s going on or what it is about. I have some clues but nothing complex.

Chevalier, normally you are quite articulate. However, this seems to be a rare exception, that or I am impenetrably dense today. I am sorry, I cannot quite get your meaning here.

It is no use ranting, so I will join you too. I finally started typing here tonight, because my house gets quiet after dark and normal people sleep.

I took my 7 wonderful kids and left a scary marriage 1 1/2 years ago. The tribunal is looking over the annulment that my priest says is cut and dry.

I am only 35, but how Catholic does a man have to be to not be terrified of an instant family with 7 females!??:eek:Mary gets me to Jesus who holds my hand! I don’t know that God will find a man strong enough to bear the love we share around here, but an extra arm would sure be a comfort.

You have six daughters and no sons?!?!? that would make any man tremble!

Okay, I meant that as humorous so I hope you took it that way. So do you care about age?

More seriously, I pray that God will preserve you and give you and your children the graces you need to get through the trials you are now experiencing.

Visit Jesus in the Tabernacle. He is alone too. He could use some company, some consolation, someone to talk to. Visit Him.

Sorry, it was night already and I was rather exhausted, having slept little and mostly dealt with a foreign tax law for a while.

What I meant was that sometimes, on some rare but otherwise rather significant days, I would be left speechless in a church near the university campus, by the heard-rending sight of a radiant, beautiful and bright apparently Catholic lady of an age category that you wouldn’t normally so expect of. In a certain sense, there is something in common between that and the Christian art of the masters of old. This is no wonder after all, if we talk about a person confessed and communed, given the theological implications. It gave me two kinds of feelings: first that I didn’t want to seek anywhere else (than the Church, albeit by a capital “c”, as *the *Church, not a church building), second that that I had much work to do yet with myself. It mostly happened - or I mostly noticed - on those days on which my misfortunes in that regard were particularly painful.
