This probably only applies to singles but I’m just curious…for all those that don’t have any partners for kids how are you goine to fill you’re time? I plan on doing some volunteering and reading. Not exciting I know but with my usual busy schedule lounging around with a good book for a day or so sounds really appealing. 👍

I have a lot of down time at the holidays – about three weeks with no work. I do go to family for the actual Christmas holiday but the rest of the time I usually do home projects – or finish the ones I’ve already started:D – read and relax. My life is usually so crazy busy that I enjoy the down time.

I like the idea of volunteering. If you like to cook, you might make a couple of casseroles and freeze them and bring them to the priest to keep in his freezer for a home-cooked meal that he can make when he’s ready. I tend to “pick my charities” and I like doing stuff like that.

I’m going to be at my folks for 2 weeks (Christmas and New Year’s). A lot of my friends are also going to be in town, so it should be fun!

I think volunteering and reading are good, but I know what you mean.

Quiet time and reading, also a few old movies. Volunteering sounds good, too.

Next year my kids will be with their dad, and I’m already thinking of ideas. I’m planning on doing some volunteer work, and then on Christmas morning, lounge around in a comfy toasty bathrobe and sip a mimosa (or two!). Maybe watch old home movies of Christmas or look through photos, dunno.

I’ve only got Christmas Day off. I’m hoping to get off work early Christmas Eve so I can go to midnight Mass, assuming there’s an English one at one of the parishes I attend in Seoul (about an hour to an hour and a half away from me). I’ve got about a dozen people (who don’t mix well, unfortunately) who have asked if I’d spend Christmas with them. I’ve got some decisions to make about what I’m going to do about it. I don’t want to be spending Christmas flitting from one person’s place to another.

The one time my ex took the kids for Christmas (long before DH and his adopting the kids), I spent Christmas alone. I used it to clean!!! I went for walks. I volunteered to work extra hours, so people with kids home could be with them. I cooked when I wanted, and what I wanted.
