Does your church offer an Alpha or similar program for those seeking more information about Christianity?

The church where I go for women’s ministry does. They just started it this past week to coincide with Easter. I have been to several Alpha sessions and it is a great place to ask questions about the faith.

Alpha is not a Catholic program. There is a (sort of) Catholic version. There are much better Catholic programs, such as Why Catholic?, for inquirers.

The local megachurch does they tend to support the more modest sized churches, both within and outside of their denomination in the local area.

Sorry, just realized this was in the non-Catholic forum. Too late to delete. :o

First I’ve heard of this. Interesting. Doesn’t mean it’s not happening around me or that no one I know is involved, though. I can probably ask around and…you know, there’s a thing I might do Wednesday where this could be the perfect conversation starter. Thanks!

Thanks for the apology.

I should mention that the church which I’ve been discussing has about 600 people who attend services regularly. It is a Lutheran church which split from the ELCA over the gay pastors issue. The church is evangelical in flavor. They have a billboard on their property which is currently advertising this series.

The official website for Alpha is alpha.org

The international headquarters are in the United Kingdom.
