This just means you are human.

Immerse yourself in the ocean of God’s mercy and go to Confession. Just get back up and be aware that Lent is just beginning.
Accidentally eating meat requires confessing?

I got a friend that is seasoned Catholic and abstains from meat the entire Lent period, while I returned to Church in spirit just a year ago, the first Lent season I messed up a couple of Fridays, I repented, now this second season I am finding easier to remember and be aware, it helps to give thanks before meals, if by chance you already cooked meat and have dogs, give it to them so it does not go to waste.

I am doing better with cussing…more aware how much I seem to use it. Fasting didn’t go well but I will try better.

It’s a process. Everyone messes up, but the fasts and the penance are meant, like the Sabbath, to be for man, not man for the Sabbath/penances/fasts. So, don’t worry if you forget or slip up. It happens to us all. šŸ˜‰

My friend, I learned this recently and I tell my friends this: if you unknowingly did it and it happened without you consenting to it (consenting would be: ex. you think to yourself: ā€œI know I’m not supposed to x, y, and z but what the heck, you only live once, I’m too weak to give up turkey!ā€) then no problem. I’m pretty sure this was on your mind and you had the intention of not breaking your abstinence. Pick yourself up, and try to remember not to do it again. Those experiences serve to show us how weak we are, don’t worry. Pray for grace my friend to finish off this Lent like a warrior!

Peace and Blessings,
