We probably should NOT discuss beeās wax ratios either

Well you should know that if you donāt have 51% beeswax, the Mass is invalid, and the priest, sacristan and anyone responsible will go to hell. Just want to clear that one up.:dts:

You should. Itās a current legitimate liturgical book in the roman rite. How would you react if I said:I care nothing about the 1962 missal.
This is a very wrong attitude. One does not have to prefer or even attend the Extraordinary Form of the Mass but to ācare nothingā is contrary to the mind of the Holy Father, who requests that the EF Missal āmust be given due honour for its venerable and ancient usageā (SP Art. 1). I canāt see how to ācare nothingā is to follow this exhortation.I care nothing about the 1962 missal.

Further, the Holy Father has always desired a hermeneutic of continuity, not rupture. One way of applying this hermeneutic is to look to the past if current legislation is unclear. This candle issue is a perfect example. The General Instruction of the current Form is not strict on this matter, but if one looks to the traditional practice, one can very easily put six candles during a Sunday or Solemnity, two during a weekday Mass and four during a Feast.
I think every Catholic should care for the ancient Missal as much as they should care for the modern Use of the Roman Site.
What kind of backhanded comment was that? He even backed up his points with documents. Is this the āTraditional Catholicā forum?![]()
This and the other statement is rather inflammatory here on CAF and downright nuclear else where. Prudence is called for here.Is this the āTraditional Catholicā forum?![]()
