I hope this is the right place to post this, I thought that this would be the place where people would know about this kind of thing. I’ve been asked to get some altar cards framed for my church. My priest asked for safety glass, but everywhere I’ve been, they say that this is too heavy and to use plexiglass instead. Does anyone know what kind of materials were used for framing the altar cards in their church? I’m afraid plexiglass won’t let the cards be readable enough. Thanks!

Use window glass. If you are having them professionally framed that’s what they use.

If safety is truly that big of an issue (?!?!?!) use either polycarbonate (Lexan) or acrylic (Plexiglass.) The optical qualities of both will work just fine and they will both look fine too.
