Altar frontal - help requested with Spanish term

I am publishing a book on silver of the Americas and we are in the late stages of the publication - galleys. My books are not nearby and I am looking for a term in Spanish that is the equivalent of an altar frontal.

The term is to describe a piece of South American silver that was probably a section of an altar frontal.

Hope someone can look this up for me soon!

I’m no expert in Spanish, but I used the Babel Fish translation feature at altavista.com and came up with “frontal del altar.” I then checked it by googling “frontal del altar” and it seemed to make sense.

It could be either ‘Frontal de Altar’ or ‘Frontal del Altar’.
 
is the a in altar capitalized? I wondered about that too.

Mostly, it is just spelled ‘Frontal del altar’. Altar isn’t capitalized.

To clarify, *‘Frontal DEL altar’ *seems to be the one commonly used in Spanish as the equivalent of the term ‘Altar Frontal’.
I seem to have done a bit of a mistake about the ‘Frontal de altar’ (It is the Portuguese equivalent), sorry.
