[cfh99nyc]

Hello all, I recently saw during the daily mass on EWTN that the bible is kept on the altar on some gold plated bible holder… I looked everywhere online for one of those so I could purchase one but im not sure what you called them. I checked all over online catholic church supplies to no avail. i was wondering if anyone knew where i could obtain one… thx

I just saw last Sunday what you are talking about for the first time, don’t know if it was new or if I’d just never noticed it before.

You can call St. Mel’s Catholic Church @ (916) 967-1229 and ask where they got it.

im not sure what you called them.

I don’t think they have a special liturgical name (other than “book stand”).

A quick search turns up all sorts of book stands, but mostly plastic “book butlers.” I found some dainty metal ones (made of wire). I didn’t see anything that looked appropriate for liturgical use. Even eBay was a dry hole (today).

Check Ebay. They have several vendors who sell Catholic church supplies. I believe they are mostly salvage type places who buy statues, fonts, Stations of the cross, etc., from Churches that have closed., I here they get many of their items from Canada! I was on-line last night and found many fine items.

Good luck.
