Sex.

The word ‘sex’ or term ‘having sex’ seems to have a very cold and/or physical connotation. What terms or phrases have you heard/used that allude more to the *beauty *, spirituality, and emotional side of marital intimacy than the physical aspect of it, but sound a less ‘clinical’ than marital intimacy/debt?

Keep it clean, folks…😉 lol…

Lovemaking, the marital benefit, lovey-dovey, making whoopie (which is NOT restricted to Whoopie Goldberg’s parents!)

‘Making love’ is the most obvious one I can think of, but I’ve also heard “celebrating our marriage”. Unfortunately, most of the terms I know are either more appropriate for non-Christian religions or very, very lewd.

Hmm, how about “bonding”? As in “let’s bond with each other”? Sounds kind of cute, too technical?

Me too.😊 That’s why I asked on here…haha…

Maybe…could be tad on the cheesy side, but I am sure it will be worth a shot at some point.😛

Oh I just had to post on this! Those that are familiar with my threads know my all time, absolute, no holds barred favorite term is MARITAL DEBT!! Seriously, dont the very words just make you want to forget the loving, cuddling romance and get right down to paying the debt?? For those of you not familar with me and my posts, I abhor that term and yes, I am completely aware that the Church uses it to describe certain legal terms of marital intercourse…but that won’t change the fact I can’t stand that term! I wonder if the marital debt collection agency is going to hunt me down on this thread and remind me what a bad Catholic I am for disliking those words? Just round up the usual suspects and let the discourse begin…again:p

Someone I used to listen to on the radio called it

“Moving the furniture.”

😉

I thought that was rather funny.

Yes, very funny, actually.

But not exactly what I’m looking for…lol. I have a feeling it doesn’t convey the message I would intend…😃

How about…

“Mating.”

“Let’s go mate, darling, it’s springtime again.”

😃

Wrap Chrisrmas presents, talk about the bills, clip coupons, write up the grocery list, talk about work, have a serious discussion. They may not be special or romantic, but they get the kids out of our hair for a few minutes. Still, one of these days they’re going to wonder why there aren’t a lot more presents under the tree.

Not that I disagree with you, but “having sex” is a whole big step up from some of the terms in favor around here, such as “rendering the marital debt” for one. That one always struck me as particularly thin-blooded and icy.

how about…
  • lets celebrate the sacrament
  • lets renew our vows
  • lets do it like they do it on discovery channel
  • lets make a baby
  • lets honor God
  • lets make love
😃

The terms/phrases I have seem clean enough to me; however, if I have to stop and think, it is probably better that I don’t post them. 🙂

I expected better out of you…lol:shrug:
Well, after watching “Frozen Planet” last night, I was thinking of the penguins…They are pretty sweet with each other, really.

😉

:rotfl:

“We never said we were wrapping YOUR Christmas presents!”

LOL

Hey, my wife loves watching Frozen Planet…maybe you are on to something…😛

Embrace…hmmmm…perhaps…

I’ve always intended to use this line during my proposal but what about “being pro-life”?

As in, “Hey, baby, wanna go be pro-life with me?!”
