Do you know what Mother Theresa called homosexual persons?

Children of God.

Actions are wrong or right. People are always children of God.

A mistake that is very common (and which I myself am guilty of) is to try to over intellectualize the faith.

A simple pocket Catechism, like the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church or John Hardon’s Pocket Catholic Catechism, is good to give an overview of the essential tenets of the faith. More research can always be done later if you want to go in depth. As one of the other posters noted Catholicism for Dummies is also very good.

Another book I would recommend is John Hardon’s Catholic Dictionary.

And of course you could simply ask a priest if you have a burning question.

A Evil person is one who commits evils acts and sin is evil,

What part am I missing !
Most people don’t live the majority of their lives committing evil. Just as you wouldn’t call someone a “generous” person because they put $5.00 in the basket once a year, it isn’t inappropriate to call someone an “evil” person because they occasionally sin.

Incidentally, it really is wrong to label others that way. Not our place.

yes I present myself as a evil person the bible describes us as wicked even the smallest sin to us is a enormous sin to God in the eyes of his righteousness.
I am really sorry that is the way you see yourself. That is very sad. I am pretty sure God doesn’t view you that way.

Based on what you’ve posted and in my opinion as someone who was a long time Cafeteria Catholic… no. You are not a Cafeteria Catholic. The fact you’re even asking that question and the reasoning you’re giving is a good sign you’re not.
I have to agree with this.

I am a cafeteria Catholic. I don’t have any Interest in trying to believe and embrace the teachings with which I disagree. Seems like OP is wanting to get in line with Church teaching on those things. It is two different situations.

People who commit sins are sinners. They are not evil they do evil things. The church loves sinners. The church calls no one evil. Sounds like you are fine. Welcome to the faith!

It is human to question, and if you believe every rule of the church has to observed, realize the Church changes too. Think about things Catholics consider rules now but have changed. Heck, Popes were married in the past and now people lose their minds if the thought of married priests is brought up. What doesn’t change is God’s love and a Jesus dying for us on the Cross. Worship our God and Lord, not the church.

Doctrines have never changed. Disciplines have changed.
