When you and “need” get doing telling each other how clever you are please adress post #36
:rotfl:

Apparently Sacred Scripture and Encyclicals aren’t the only things which are misinterpreted…my posts are too. There’s ***nothing clever ***about my user name except that it’s a true reflection of where I am pertaining to complete knowledge of my faith. I was wondering if anyone else wanted to share a slice of humble pie with me before it gets cold.

…lookat the Pope’s having to apologize in Australia, the problem seems to have been universal for them.
It’s sad when the Holy Father has to apologize for something he never had a direct hand in…would be much better to see the perps themselves apologize…a little more in line with justice towards our neighbor…wouldn’t you say ?

IMy apologizes for misunderstanding you. I just finished a dish of cake and ice cream so i am a little full now however that you may rest assured that we have humble pie in almost unlimited quantities in our house.

Is it apple humble pie?
It might be bumble berry…I was thinking of saving a slice for the Coach…don’t know if he likes that flavour.

@ estesbob: No apology necessary - you cracked me up with that one man. You can’t apologize for making someone laugh.

Could be-the waitresses name was Eve…

BTW-what kind of incense do you burn? IMy favorites are “Pontifical Incense:” and “Jerusalem Incense”
No Bob…Eve was the cook…Pride was the waitress.

First Communion comes years before Confirmation.
Only when baptism is received as an infant … and catechesis is ongoing …

the proper order for reception of the Sacraments of Initiaition is:

Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist … in the Latin Rite the order is “out of sinc” in that infants who are baptized receive the Sacrament of reconcilliation at the age of reason [usually around 7] and then receive the Eucharist [when they are properly catechized and are able to understand the mystery of the Body and Blood] while Confirmation is reserved until Jr High or High School age …

When children [who have reached the age of reason] or adults are initiated into the divine mysteries … they receive the Sacraments in the Proper Order - Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist …

So for me it was, Baptism, Confession, Holy Communion, Confirmation. (since I was Baptized as an infant.)
I was 11 when I was Confirmed however, not a teenager.

When, as you said, children who reached the age of reason or adults …when do they receive the Sacrament of Confession for the first time, and in what order?

Back beyond the edge of time in 1945, or thereabouts, I received the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Communion in the space of one year. Confirmation came when I was twelve.
