I think I know the answer, but I just wanted to make sure.
I’m an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. I have a few mortal sins that I need to confess but I will have no opportunity to get to confession before my assigned Mass this Sunday. I plan on getting to church a little early and having a quick confession right before Mass.
If I don’t have an opportunity to perform my penance until after the Mass am I still in a state of grace for the Mass? I don’t want to receive Communion or help distribute if I am not in a state of grace.
Thanks and God Bless!
