So here’s my question: is it participating in people’s sins to go to bars or house parties where you know your friends (underage) will be drinking, even if you don’t drink?
So, would you like us to lower the drinking age for you?Figured as much. Quite unfortunate that you need to be older to drink than to own a gun, a car and a house.
I agree.looking at it from another perspective, if there is nothing you can do to prevent your friends from going you can actually make the best of the situation by going with them and making sure they make good choices as well as provide them with a safe ride home.
What questions like these always boil down to is “do I have an obligation to attend/not to attend?”So here’s my question: is it participating in people’s sins to go to bars or house parties where you know your friends (underage) will be drinking, even if you don’t drink?
maybe unwise. Why do you want to hang out with friends that are underage and starting to drink. As one poster said, if the party is raided by police, everyone there is culpable. If everyone around you is drinking, there is more pressure on you to drink. Why put yourself in that situation of pressure, temptation and finally illegal. So here’s my question: is it participating in people’s sins to go to bars or house parties where you know your friends (underage) will be drinking, even if you don’t drink?
Not at all. I personally feel that it is too high, but that’s just my opinion. I uphold the law since the alternate is sinful. So, would you like us to lower the drinking age for you?
Well, for me drinking isn’t something that I could be pressured into. I’m on medication that means that if I do, there’d be some serious consequences for me health-wise, so I don’t do it.maybe unwise. Maybe Aeden wants the drinking age to be 18? Oh the horrorSo, would you like us to lower the drinking age for you?
Indeed, they treat everyone as guiltyIf the party gets raided, the police may not care of you’ve been drinking or not. They don’t need to issue field sobriety tests if you’re not in a car already.
I would counsel a different locale with different friends to host a designated driver party with games and popcorn. It’s not lame, it’s prudential.
This is the same exact quote of was thinking of when I read the question.“Run from places of sin as from the Plague” - St. John Climacus, 525-606 B.C.
