Am I bad Person?

I don’t pray or go to church a lot. I don’t know how to pray the rosary. But I talk to him everyday, all the words come from my heart. I also confess to him.

Most catholics in my country, think that when you don’t go to church, or don’t know how to pray, you are not a good person.

Is a person bad if he/she prefers to pray from the heart instead of saying a memorized prayer?

You are not a bad person! But you are missing a intended not of Jesus creation of the Catholic faith. It is intended to be shAred a nd supported by the community! Crist’s love is directly shared by people in the community! Do not miss this not that God Ns Jesus intended! Go to Church , share in the hot of of the group that loves!!
 
I’m not a minor. I’m actually 26. I’ve just recently become close to God. I want to be closer to him.

No you are not a bad person. You are someone who is at the beginning of a lifelong journey. Start with your inner prayer life as you say you are doing now. Then allow God to open your heart to a more community based mode of worship. That is what the Catholic church is.

And I would imagine you will find a good number of people on this forum who really began their journey at about the same age that your are now. I have a friend who has always said the true Catholicism is an adult religion, meaning though we might teach it to children, no one really makes a hard decision to accept the teaching of the RCC and live consistent with it until they are at least in their twenties, and for many, years later. There is much beauty in a community expression of faith.

Edited to add. And if you want to get closer to him, read John chapter six and then understand what the Eucharist is in the RCC. You can’t really get any closer than that.

You are not a bad person. Although you should know that intentionally missing mass without a good reason is a mortal sin so you should go to confession and start going to mass.
 
God loves prayers from the heart.
But He wants us to obey Him. If you are a Catholic that means going to Mass every Sunday.
If you don’t try to obey Him then how heartfelt are your prayers?
Please be sure to go to Mass every Sunday, without ceasing to pray from your heart.
 
You sound religious to me.

Don’t worry about what people think of you. You can consider whether their praise or criticism can give you some pointers when you make your self-examinations, but let God be your judge and the One you aim to please. People are lovable, but pleasing them all is impossible.

Without God, no, none of us is good. That’s not a problem, though; we were never meant to operate separately from Him.

I recommend attending mass on Sundays; it is an obligation of Catholics. Plus, you would be making Jesus very happy, going to visit Him! He loves you beyond measure.

Another thing I recommend is to read some spiritual books. St. Alphonsus De Liguori (he has some great books as well!) says this is an essential component to the spiritual life along with work and prayer. Books by any saints are good. Their self giving love of God is so inspiring. St. Gemma, my favorite saint, of course, has a wonderful autobiography and diary.

You don’t need to always recite formal prayer but it does help in those moments when you don’t know what to say. To say a memorized prayer slowly, meditating on the words, really deepens your prayer life and brings your heart closer to God. The rosary does that as well because though it’s recitation, the heart is pulled toward God, meditating on Him and His mysteries. Mental prayer is also beautiful and was practiced by many saints. I suggest trying it!

Start with Mass on Sundays, go to Reconcilliation.

Have you ever been to Adoration. That’s where I just sit with Jesus and enjoy His company. It’s a great way to get close to God.

Also pray to the Holy Spirit to guide you.
 
Congratulations on wishing to become closer to God.
However, I do see a possible danger in that, from the style of your posts, you’re kind of getting a false idea in your head about many Catholic teachings, and indeed, about Catholics in general.

You know, it’s easy to blame not knowing things on ‘bad teachers’ or ‘bad material’. You can try to excuse yourself by implying that while other Catholics your age and older are focusing on ‘rigid rules’ while you are ‘humble and looking for a relationship’ but you FORGET that those ‘rigid rules’ are there not to ‘fence God out’ but to keep YOU safe. That just because your friends (rightly) tell you to seek out Jesus where He Himself chose (the Mass, the Eucharist) it doesn’t mean that they, or you, can’t seek Him out at other times and places). With Catholics it is a ‘both-and’, not an ‘either-or’.
