Am I being insulting to God? Don't want to lose spiritual growth!

Christ walked on the water during a storm where the waves were forcing the boat up and down. Jesus was at peace. One can’t force him or herself to walk with Christ it is a state of grace. Walk with Our Lord and there is peace. One can ride the waves up and down that is a choice, I rather escape the motion sickness in the peace and contemplation of my Lord. Surf the waves with Christ if you enjoy that, but I still rather contemplate Christ. Force is not an issue, it is a matter of choice.

You seem very spiritual. A lot of people don’t even think about God. With you, it seems, your mind and heart reach out to God throughout the day. You seem to lead a very contemplative life. As far as spiritual dryness is concerned, it’s painful but can be spiritually beneficial if you offer up that suffering to God with love and patience. In a strange way, when God seems distant, He is, in actuality, drawing you to a closer communion with Him. In the spiritual aridity, God is strengthening not only your faith but your love for Him as well. Think of it as an invitation from God for a more intimate relationship with Him. 🙂
