Not sure if this is the right board for this question, but since it’s related to Mass, I thought I’d pose it here.
My husband will celebrate 5 years of Permanent Diaconate on October 4. I called the rectory today, and asked them if he could be included in the Prayers of the faithful on his anniversary of ordination that God continue to guide him in right paths. Their answer?
Nope.
The prayers of the faithful are for “social justice” issues. Hmm…last week they mentioned the new mayor of Detroit (this parish is not in Detroit), the Presidential candidates, and for an end to police brutality.
They also never pray for an end to the holocaust of abortion, and other pro-life issues. Come to think of it, they haven’t prayed for the Holy Father or for an increase in vocations, either. I guess I should consider him in good company, being ignored along with the real issues facing Catholics today.
