Hello,
I have acted as what my parish refers to as a “Mass Coordinator” for a little over two years now. I schedule the extraordinary ministers and lectors, fill in when those scheduled do not show up and manage the ushers/handle the collections. I feel guilty about this but I am beginning to feel burned out and that Mass has become a chore. Is it wrong to want to step down in order to focus on attending on the Mass again? I have heard the pastor mention that I am a good role model for the youth of the parish (I am 28 and perform this duty at the life teen service) but I also work full time, attend school and coordinate care for my wife, who is ill. Is it selfish to wish to step down from my duties at the parish?
