Am I bound to this promise?

When I was 13 I lost my scapular while on vacation, and I had heard that if anyone died while wearing the brown scapular they woutnot suffer the fires of hell, so I was very scared that I would die before I could find it or get another t find it. So I made a promise to God to never masturbate again if I found it. Obviously masturbating is a sin, and since then I have definitely masturbated. My question is this: at that age, under those circumstances, was it a valid vow?

When we make private promises to God that we wish to be released of, we can bring it up in the confessional.

1. there is a fine line between devotion and superstition. Don’t Cross it.
2. Confession would take care of your problem.

1. Don’t make false deals with God , that includes promises.

1. Do things that cultivate God’s grace to help you combat this sin.
2. Don’t masturbate anymore.

Thank you. I had forgotten about this promise, and just remembered a little while ago, so it was weighing on me quite heavily.
