I wrote a paper on God, and I wanted to submit it here to see what people think about it. I feel like I screwed up on the thing and I just need someone to tell me if I did so I can be corrected and better know the Lord. Words in bold are quotes from the Scriptures.
I wrote the paper “On God” for three reasons: To argue that God exists, that God is the God who revealed Himself in the Scriptures, and that Christians are not idol worshippers but worshippers of God – with, of course, complete and utter respect to other people’s beliefs and faiths, and, not to argue angrily or bitterly, like a baby having a tantrum, but rather, simply and logically, like a man speaking with another man.
ON GOD
Who Is God?
**“I am who I am” **He is who He is – the Lord is, in His Essence, the Lord: God is God. The Essence of God – Who the Lord is – is unfathomable; to try to fathom it would be like trying to scoop all the water of this world into a tiny hole. Hence, all we can say is, God is God.
What Is God?
“Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord! Therefore you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” God is one God: He is without a body or parts, He is completely Simple, He is Spirit – His Will is His Power, His Power is His Knowledge, His Knowledge is Will. He is the Absolute Good – Existence itself, Holiness itself, Truth itself, Justice itself, Love itself, Mercy itself, Happiness itself, Peace itself, Perfection itself. He is all that He is in Himself, and so, He is the one and only God, the living God, and every other so-called “god” and “lord” in the world is but an idol.
When Is God?
“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end” He is Eternal, without a beginning or an end, because He is Self-Existent and Self-Sufficient, and, as the Cause and the Summit of all goodness, He is the Beginning and the End of time. The Lord is immune to rules and needs. He always has been, always is, and always shall be.
Where Is God?
“Where can I hide from your spirit? From your presence, where can I flee? If I ascend to the heavens, you are there; if I lie down in Sheol, you are there too. If I fly with the wings of dawn and alight beyond the sea, Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand hold me fast” God is everywhere and in everything, and everything is in Him; He is farther than the farthest star, and deeper than the most deepest regions of the soul. He is Infinite. The Lord is the very life of everyone and everything, and He is the immortality which men thirst for. We cannot see His Face in this world, but, we can see His reflection in the soul (e.g. man is made in the likeness of God and must be a shining mirror of God) and we can see His back in the world (e.g. the beauty of creation reflects the glory of God).

“Be still and see that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, and I will be exalted in the earth" He is because He is who He is: God. He dose not exist because man created Him or because man is made to praise Him or because He must journey with man or because He must save man from evil; rather, He is because He is God. The crown of all of His works is Mercy, for He is Love, and all creation praises Him for His works and loves Him, not because He gives and takes away, but because He is the Lord.
How Is God?
**“For the Lord is high, terrible; a great king over all the earth” **God is because He is. The Lord is Self-Existent and Self-Sufficent, indeed, Existence and Happiness itself. He is the most exalted, awesome; a great king over all the earth. (Many people misread the Bible because they read it without trying to come to understand the texts; for example, when God says He is a jealous God, many people believes it means God has human emotions or can be tempted to envy or is even acknowleding the existence of other so-called “gods” – but, what the Lord is really saying is that, as the Lord, He is jealous of His people, that is, He is protective of His people, viligant in guarding them and watching over them, as a good father guards and watches over his children). God is God, the Lord is the Lord. We have now come full circle.
