Am I in denial, or did I commit a mortal sin?

I ask this because I was very angry one evening and my thoughts moved towards wanting to kick their butt (something I would never do, but you know us men) and I dwelt on it for a second or so then it dawned on me that it was grave matter to wish such a thing and I kicked it out of my head. But I feel I willed the thought, so did I commit a mortal sin or not?

No, absolutely no mortal sin. It might not be a sin at all, considering that as soon as you came to your senses you dismissed it.

You cannot commit a mortal sin just by thinking something bad.

Infact, unless you were deep within a fanacty about bloodied corpses its probably simply uncharitiable and not a veninal sin.

Also, considering your litany of mental illnesses it could also be a random misfire, a hormonal surge or med flux.

Go to confession anyways, because the priest can give you advice on what to do to make sure it will never happen again. Confession is a sacrament of repentence and reconciliation with God, not simply for absolution.

Alright, thanks guys. And yeah, a litany of illnesses you got that right! I get so angry in the first place because I feel endangered easily. BUT! I put two and two together and realized I wasn’t making proper use of my Miraculous Metal, so I basically started using it right (read: not for its own sake superstitiously :o ) and loaded up a bunch of intercessions for graces into wearing it devotionally. Because that’s what it’s for, duh. And yeah, I started overcoming some of my big issues fast. YAY!
