Am I in good standing with the Church?

My wife and I have been asked to be Godparents to my nephew. My wife and I are both divorced previously. We have both been through the annulment process and have both been granted annulment. My wife is Methodist. We were married about 18months ago in a Methodist Church. It is our intention to have the marriage convalidated, but have not yet done so? Am I in good standing with the Church and may my wife and I be Godparents for my nephew?
 
You cannot be a godparent/sponsor for someone until your marriage is validated by the Church.
