I always have to go to the OF of the Mass. I’ve gone to about 6 or 7 different parishes in the diocese. I was sort of thinking about this after Mass today. It seems everywhere I go, loud guitars/drums, liturgical innovation, dancing, etc. is the norm. I can’t escape it.
I’m just wondering, am I like, extreme? I think the EF is the better way to worship. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that it should be in every parish. Somehow, it just seems terrible to me that every single parish is so willing to embrace these new things, which I consider irreverent, but they would never do anything traditional. Also, it seems like this happens EVERYWHERE. This is the way everybody does it. I think it has gone too far, and I am a little bit frustrated because I have no other choice. Am I just crazy?? Please tell me if I just need to get with the times, and stop being so fanatical.
Is it different where you live? I live in southern California, diocese of San Bernardino, which is sort of near LA. Or is this the way it is everywhere?
