The OP has been very careful to remove any mention of whether the cheater is a man or a woman. Why is everyone assuming moosey is a woman, and that her husband has cheated? Couldn’t it easily be the other way around?

It is because he got caught and people are just making a guess. Women are just as unfaithful as men but are much more discreet and are less likely to get caught.

And Family Life forum is something around 90% female so it probably isn’t a bad guess to assume a poster is female.

I stumbled across a new group that might be more appropriate:
forums.catholic-questions.org/group.php?groupid=659

"Staying married after infidelity (Group created by shipshape)

As a Catholic, I found it difficult finding answers within the church for how to handle your spouse’s infidelity. There is plenty of info out there on the world wide web, but very little concrete Catholic advice, guidelines or even where to go with this problem. That is why I decided to start this discussion group. I believe what the Church teaches about marriage and I take my marriage vows very seriously. I was confused and distraught when I found out my spouse had been unfaithful. I wanted good Catholic help and advice and found little. Hoped this group could help and also others who have found good Catholic resources could make us aware of them. Hope this is helpful to many!"
