Am I praying correctly?

Would I be better just telling God or Jesus what I am needing instead of Mary and the angels ?
My understanding is that graces come from God and even the ability to communicate through prayer comes from God.

Most of my prayers (which I should be doing more of) are directed to God the father and Jesus. Sometimes I will also pray to Mary but rarely to (other) saints.

I think it might be a matter of familiarity. I believe part of the reason for the incarnation was so that when we are praying we have a clear picture of God through the person of Jesus. The rosary also helps us to be more familiar with the life of Mary especially with respect to her relationship with God.

I am currently compiling teaching aids involving Christian saints and so perhaps after coming to know them more closely I will be more comfortable praying to God through the saints.

If saints were themselves reflecting the goodness of God it seems quite a valid form of prayer and praise to edify their actions and then ask them to help us be closer to God.

If God touches people’s lives through the actions of the saints then it would make sense to pray through the witness of those saints to God - I guess.

For me, the main focus has always been on Jesus and the Father perhaps because of familiarity and the thinking that, crudely put, the buck stops there.

Wow. Beautiful!

We can know God through Jesus and this is how He becomes more personal than in the O.T.

Yes. The Buck Stops Here!

God bless you
