I have a very scrupulous conscience that comes from when I used to watch porn. Its been a year since I’ve watched porn but my conscience is now working overtime everyday. Today in physics class we were doing a review for the finals next week. The teacher left the room and some of the other students started cheating, taking pictures of the answers, etc. I however did not cheat. But I read somewhere that we can participate in the sins of other people by our silence. In that moment I felt anxiety and wanted to do something but I was afraid to speak out in front of the whole class. What should I do? Am I guilty of mortal sin? Am I still responsible for the sins of my classmates? Should I tell the teacher and risk getting called a snitch? I don’t want to hear what I want to hear. I just want some honest answers. Thank you.

Hi,

You are NOT responsible for your classmates’ sins. They are. But the whole class may be affected by their undeserved good grades. You might want to tell the teacher privately that some cheating was going on. If you should want to discuss this with me privately, just click on my name above.
