I was born into a Catholic family and received all sacraments in normal order. In addition, I was married in the Catholic Church and later joined a lay third order. When the sex aabuse scandal was made public, I was horrified and stopped going to church for several years. Then, as I didn’t like not going to church, I took instruction and was chrismated in the Easter Orthodox Church. After about a year, I realized that as much as I wanted to I couldn’t not be a Catholic. Consequently, I went back to Catholic Chrch, went to confession and became active in my parish. I have never discussed my brief encounter with the Orthodox church with friends, my pastor, or anyone. Am I still considered a Roman Catholic? Thanks for the answer.
