Am I supposed to say something or is it NOMB?

Hey there,

I’m in a hostile situation at work with my immediate supervisor. We’re in the middle of getting that sorted out with some higher ups but neither of us is the other’s favorite person right now and the tension is palpable.

It came to me secondhand from his secretary that he’s getting a vasectomy in a couple of days. As a Catholic I know this is wrong but I know that would fall on deaf ears on him (raised Catholic but doesn’t practice as far as I can tell). However, I feel strongly that he isn’t aware of the health risks he’ll be taking on if he goes through with this. I had thought of printing out some info and just giving it to him saying I’m really concerned for your health as one human being to another  One, I don’t think he’ll listen to me and two, I see this being taken the wrong way and used as ammunition against me in the situation that is currently being negotiated. I guess, thirdly, he never told me so this constitutes gossip.

What is my obligation here? Thanks for any clarity you can provide.

If you could say a prayer for him too I would appreciate it!

As it is second-hand information, you have no grounds for confronting him even indirectly.

Just say a prayer for him and make an offering for him. But by saying something to him you will just make him go on the defensive.

Thank-you…as I was writing this it struck me as nomb.
