Am I taking too much of a priest's time?

After my priest suggested to me several times that I should come to Confession every month, I have been calling him once a month for an appointment. He is always very happy to accommodate me, and encourages me to keep doing that. The monthly Confession has helped me spiritually, and even though there is never anyone else waiting for appointment and my Confessions never take more than 3-5 minutes, I still worry that I am being selfish and taking a disproportionate amount of the priest’s time, because we are a parish of more than 6,000 families and two priests, so I figure if everyone called a priest for Confession every month, he would be overwhelmed.

As you note the priest is always happy to accommodate you and has never discouraged you from making an appointment. If there is a problem he’ll let you know, but generally speaking priests are always happy to spiritually assist people and administer the sacraments. I think you’re fine. After all, having ‘too many’ people request confession would be considered a good problem for a parish to have!
