Am I the only one to be comforted this way?

Recently, and especially moreso since I have been undergoing some stress at work, I have taken the habit of sleeping with five mini-rosaries on my hand, one hooked around each finger and the thumb, with the five crucifixes clenched in my palm.

If I wake up in the morning with all five still on, I feel better.

I also have taken up the habit of sleeping with my bible near my chest, like someone would if they were sleeping with a little rabbit or something.

Am I the only one to be comforted this way?

Does anyone else do something like this ?

Somtimes I sleep with my polished wood rosary in my hand, especially when I am too troubled to pray it.

I have a rosary wrapping around my risk - somehow I feel comforted doing that. and also, whenever I get in the middle of the night, the rosary in my wrist reminds me to say a quick praise to the Lord.

when i first got separated from my husband, i was so disturbed and depressed and angry and sad and …
that i would sleep with my hand on the bible next to me and embrace a picture of the sacred heart of jesus. this was the only way i could fall asleep…

I sometimes go to sleep with the rosary in my hand or under my pillow. It’s comforting to fall asleep with and a comfort during the night when I wake up. I also carry a rosary in my pocket during the day for comfort and a reminder to myself that I am not alone in dealing with my problems.

Not like that. I have my teddy bear. I have three live cats to share my bed. Excuse me…their bed, which they allow me to use.

I also find saying Compline Prayers from LOTH helpful

A small finger rosary in my pocket or hooked to my belt. A crucifix around my neck. A Handbook of Prayers where I can get it quickly.

By my bed a small devotional corner with a crucifix, Mary statue, candle and a rosary. In front of it I have a small kneeler with a bible in it.

And yes I do get comfort from this. I also usually play Marian devotionals and the Divine Mercy in my car. It sooths the savage driver beast in me.

I sleep with a blessed rosary with the bible close at hand. You never know when you’ll need the word of God. 👍

I always make sure to keep holy water in my bedroom.

Wow, so it’s more prevalent than I thought.

One does not want to turn religion into superstition.

However, there is something to be said about belief like the old woman who believed that if she only touched Jesus’ cloak, she would be healed.

Rosary under my pillow, and sometimes another wrapped around my wrist. Also Holy Water just above my head. Gives me great comfort.

I wouldn’t think one can turn this into superstition. It is just like a Cross, you have it in your house, or a medal around your neck. 🙂

I sleep with a Rosary in my hand. My spiritual mom told me she always goes to sleep praying the Rosary, and asks her guardian angel to pray with her, and to finish it for her if she goes to sleep. She asks him to get her family members’ guardian angels to pray along, too. This is a woman who has nine living children plus 4 adopted children…and her doctor told her when she was thinking of marriage that she shouldn’t have any children because of her health problems. She’s made me a believer!

Very often my Rosary will be in or near to my hand as I sleep. Sometimes my Bible, but that’s more chancy (depends on if I’m reading it just before sleep or not).

Knotted cord rosary is what I clutch at night, I don’t worry about breaking it in the night. Almost every night I fall asleep praying it.

Small card with the name of Jesus under my pillow at night, usually slipped into a shirt pocket during the day.
Rosary in my pocket all day, sometimes in my hand when I go to bed.
Crucifix on a cord around my neck, and I never take it off except when bathing.
I sprinkle holy water in each room each day.

CSN: Yes, I take comfort from these things. 🙂

I don’t even take off my group of medals in the shower. 😃

Oh dear … mine aren’t expensive enough or of pure enough metal to do that :nope: they get tarnished enough without doing that. They’re round my neck most of the rest of the day though.

Rosary by the bedside or under the pillow…I fell asleep once on the very pointy crucifix, not enough to wake up, just enough to be uncomfortable all night.
