Don’t dooooo iiiitttt! :knight2:
:ehh: What? I’m not going to read it by request. I’m going to read it because it’s on my list of things to read and I want to.

If it makes you feel better, I’m Agnostic. 😛

Ironically Yours. ❤️

I haven’t read it…but I don’t think our monks are usually albino satanic murderers (as portrayed in the game/movie comercials)

:newidead: our motto? Down With Brown!!!

Anti-Browns rally to us!👋
:knight2:
lol!
My memory escapes me, I had watched a few documentaries and interviews with Brown…is he an atheist, or was he Catholic? I can’t remember his bio. Anyone? I sometimes wonder when I hear about such works of ‘fiction,’ if the author isn’t downright mad over something …a major ax to grind with the Church. Yes, it’s fiction, but it was marketed to appear non fiction. (the movie) I remember the marketing of it, and wasn’t there a controversy over that as well? Is the Angels and Demons book somewhat similiar?

Liza…yes, that is what caught my attention…they had a big stand set up touting his latest arrival, and DaVinci was on the same stand.

I don’t know if I feel…better. 😛 Rip up your reading list and start over!

Keep him in your mind ---------->>>> :knight2:

I wasn’t telling you not to read it. :)😛

But be aware, reading it might make you terrified of albino monks hiding in your closet.:frighten:
I am telling him not to read it. 😃

In a nice way. :curtsey:

i haven’t “read” it but i have listened to it. and lemme tell you, while there were fast paced moments in the book, i don’t think i could have read thru the whole thing. dan brown can really get tangled up in the details and go on and on and on… about nothing.

But: Do you hold the English language in any reverence? If you admire the well-written word – Stay away from these books. 😛

I havent.

Life is too short for bad [literature.]*

*insert anything bad in brackets. E.g. beer, chocolate, movies, music,

I have not read the book and don’t intend to either. I’ve read enough about it, as well as excerpts, to have a good idea what it’s about. I also saw parts of the movie on cable. It would be better to read books like the DaVinci Hoax and the The DaVinci Deception, which pick Brown’s novel apart for all its factual and historical errors, and defend the faith that way.

I will not read the book, too much hype, no substance.

I saw the movie, I used to like Tom Hanks but now, not so much. I thought it was a waste of time, film, money, and actors. Pure tripe, I say, badly written and shoddy to boot.

Don’t waste your time or money on any of it.

I haven’t read it either. Too many good books out there, and that book is trash.

I thought I was alone. I have not read it either. One thing that turned me off was how so many people took it for history, and still do.

Yeah, right? I know, I marveled at that, when I heard it. I don’t get it. It’s like people read something in print, or hear it on tv, and automatically apply validity to it, and think it’s truth. This man made a lot of money off of fooling people, though. 😦

Can you imagine how many people he turned away from Christ? We should all pray for him.

Yes, I know. Well, we all have free will…Dan Brown didn’t force people away from Christ, they chose to walk away from Him, freely…Brown was a catalyst, like so much bad media is for many. I pray for their souls to come back to Christ, and I pray that Brown has a conversion of heart. :o

I haven’t! 👋

I did, however, read ‘Angels and Demons’ a long time ago. It was okay, but I didn’t get anything out of it except there’s a conspiracy around every corner. 😉

But, I just don’t feel like supporting Dan Brown’s bank account anymore than it already has been supported by all of this hype.
I did a talk on this book for a small group, and I bought a used e-book copy from eBay so it wouldn’t get back to Brown. :o

Needless to say, not only was the book chock full of errors, but they were abundantly easy to debunk. And it was written with a certain mediocrity that I found most unimpressive.

A retired librarian that hasn’t read either of Dan Brown’s books. How about sticking together?
Count me for three, I haven’t read them and don’t intend to do so. Since I’m in the process of becoming a Catholic I have a lot better things to read, and a lot of them. I don’t see how we need to read a work of fiction in order to defend our faith. How many books have been written attacking our faith? Does someone propose that we read them all? I don’t have to taste manure to know I don’t want to eat it.
