Am I worryng too much over past Confessions?

About a year ago I went to finally went to confession after some time of making invalid/thoughtless confessions. When I was preparing to go to confession I went back and forth trying to decide how far I needed to go back, because there was a particular sin I used to commit (I confessed it at one time) but I couldn’t remember if I had committed it during the time I wasn’t giving good confessions. I think in the end that I decided to confess this sin, but now a year later I am thinking that maybe I didn’t or that I didn’t go back far enough. Am I just worrying too much? What should I do?

Hi,

You’r beginning to obsess over it. Just let go of it. Unless we deliberately hold a mortal sin back from confessing it, each time we go to Confession all our past sins are forgiven. If later we remember a sin that we forgot to confess, then we confess it the next time–not because it wasn’t forgiven, but as an expression of our repentance and sorrow.
