Richard,
Let me try this again, since you obviously are not getting it. Here are the official Commandments for the Catholic Church, from the Bible at the US Conference of Catholic Bishops Website. This is a Catholic Bible.
Exodus 20:
1
1 Then God delivered all these commandments: 2 "I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. 3 You shall not have other gods besides me. 4 You shall not carve idols for yourselves in the shape of anything in the sky above or on the earth below or in the waters beneath the earth; 5
2 you shall not bow down before them or worship them. For I, the LORD, your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishment for their fathers’ wickedness on the children of those who hate me, down to the third and fourth generation; 6 but bestowing mercy down to the thousandth generation, on the children of those who love me and keep my commandments. 7 "You shall not take the name of the LORD, your God, in vain. For the LORD will not leave unpunished him who takes his name in vain. 8 "Remember to keep holy the sabbath day. 9 Six days you may labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD, your God. No work may be done then either by you, or your son or daughter, or your male or female slave, or your beast, or by the alien who lives with you. 11 In six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the LORD has blessed the sabbath day and made it holy. 12 "Honor your father and your mother, that you may have a long life in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you. 13 "You shall not kill. 14 "You shall not commit adultery. 15 "You shall not steal. 16 "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 17 "You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male or female slave, nor his ox or ***, nor anything else that belongs to him."

Anything else is a summary of said commandments. Period. The commandments are only “official” in scripture because that is where they are given, that is the primary source.
The Catechism gives the official teachings on the Commandments, but it an explanation of the Church’s teachings on scripture… not a replacement for scripture.
You can find the Catechism here:
usccb.org/catechism/text/entiretoc1.htm
Here is the official Catholic teaching on the numeration of the Commandments from the Catechism.
Paragraph 2066 states:
“The division and numbering of the Commandments have varied in the course of history. The present catechism follows the division of the Commandments established by St. Augustine, which has become traditional in the Catholic Church. It is also that of the Lutheran confessions. The Greek Fathers worked out a slightly different division, which is found in the Orthodox Churches and Reformed communities.”
Officially the Catholic Church has no stance on how the commandments are numbered, the way we do it is simply traditional, with a small T, which means it is not inspired or required. Your numeration of the commandments is just as valid since it is only changing the number assigned to commands, not the commands themselves.
Simply stated… we dont care if the Sabbath is the third or fourth commandment, and if the prohibition on Graven images is in the 1st or 2nd, as long as neither is removed.
Hope this helps clarify your understanding.
I went to the Vatican web site and the commandments are listed, exactly the way I have them listed under the heading Traditional Catechal Formula along with The commandments as found in Exodus and Deuteronomy. I probably was mistaken in saying they where official. But whether or not they are official or not is beside the point. The CC presents this summary as you call it as the Ten Commandments and the fact that they have been changed you cannot really dispute.
In Christ Richard
