I finally hit the jackpot!!! I am dyslexic and now my daughter is showing signs of dyslexia. She has issues with reading, spelling and writing. We are getting her a Pysch Ed evaluation in the upcoming weeks. $$$

I found an AMAZING software program that both my kids love. It’s fun, interactive and uses all 5 senses for learning. It’s based on a dyslexic learning style called Orton Gillingham Method. Pilot studies have concluded that children advance a full grade level after 3 months. My daughter can’t wait to get home and use it.

The great thing is that she thinks she is playing, but she is learning and studying the English language. And all I have to do is watch her “play”. For example, they have a character named “Silly Bull” who teaches all about syllables. It’s awesome!

It’s called Nessy and can be found at Nessy.com. All their programs are on-line and you just buy a license for like $50 for a year. It’s a company out of the UK.

As a parent, I had to share!!! 😃

Maths Recovery is fantastic for progress too.
There is a maths recovery book explaining how to teach how to do addition, subtraction, starting basic and getting more and more difficult.
And also, some resources like number dominoes, a ten frame abacus, ten frame for cards.

I think this software would have heilped me as a kid. if it had been around. (bad at spelling :p)

Way back when, I was trained to tutor using OG. Good method!

It’s genetically likely that our grand kids will have some learning issues, so I’ll remember your suggestion.

OG is a wonderful method:thumbsup:

Thanks for the information Serap. I have a few dyslexic kids myself, three of whom are avid readers thanks to the OG method based intervention they received.
