Imo, this is one example of creation being used to give glory to our Creator…

Which is of course its PROPER use.

I’m sure that’s true.
More than anything, it’s just a cultural thing. The original point I was trying to make was that they seem to have a better knowledge of the saints than most of us. I guess it’s taught more.

I think it is important to know what are cultural things and what are not. When my daughter married an Hispanic man we knew there would be cultural traditions that would enter into our family, just as we knew the same thing, but different traditions, for another daughter who married a Polish young man. Sometimes the cultural things clash.

Patricia

I haven’t really found much clash of cultures myself. Once in a while, you may eat a meal you’re not familiar with or hear some music that’s different than what you’re used to. But it’s not as much as some might think.
We were lucky our families have been always been supportive as most of our friends have been also. A few former neighbors had a problem with it but that;s their problem. I should say that after 35 years together it all becomes second nature to you. Wishing your daughters good luck with their husbands.

It’s also my mother’s 86th birthday today.🎂

She enjoyed it, Faith. I got her a pepperoni pizza from Papa John’s. A week or so before that, I got her a chocolate ganache cake from Publix. She’d wanted that cake for so long. It was very good but not, imo, worth the $28.99 I paid for it. Publix now offers it in slices. So we will go that route from now on.

I also gifted her with paying one of her medical bills that she couldn’t pay (from her falls in April) and a DNA test from Ancestry.com. Now we’re waiting on the results from that.

Kind of wonder…

Some wonderful friends have found their way here from Amazon. Which makes me wonder if there are lurkers here…

If there are, they should know that a person does not have to be Catholic to join this forum. However, here we are expected to adhere to the guidelines. Thankfully.

I’ve kind of wondered whether people like JIG, JS and our Mormon and JW friends might’ve come over. If so, I wish they’d post and let us know. Since they had such objections to the “no” button, they’d be delighted to know there isn’t one here (at least, not that I’ve found).
