We’re over the flu and are now waiting to find out when my throat surgery is going to be. I’d have had it last November if it hadn’t been for the flu epidemic that hit. They were actually cancelling any surgery that wasn’t an emergency because they needed the beds for the people whose flu was serious enough for them to be admitted.

I go for pre-admission on April 2. My surgery will be April 9 at 7:30am. I’ll stay overnight at the hospital and Mama will stay with me. (I’m her caregiver and can’t leave her home alone for that long.) We’ll come home the next day and I’ll have my follow up on April 18 at 9:30am.

We have a friend who will be taking us there and back home who will also help with the shopping if we need it since I will have a weight limit on lifting (20 lbs). She’ll also help with anything else we need. So we’ll be okay.

After my surgery, I’ll be on liquids only for a month while the swelling in my throat (from the surgery) goes down.
