America is under siege from inside by groups who are NOT under God.

Are gays and lesbian under god?
Are political people under God?
Is the Military under god?

Is our TV entertainment under God?

What is your opinion of
Being under God?
How do we do this?

There is only one God.
Everybody is under him whether they want to admit it or not.
I also know plenty of gays, military, and politicians who are God believers. Whether they agree with the interpretation of a specific faith as to how best to live their belief in God is where they differ from other God believers.

When was this?

The US Constitution established a secular democratic republic, so it has been more than 200 years since the situation you describe might have been in effect.

That is a personal decision, up to each individual. Our Constitution guarantees us freedom of religion, even when others don’t approve.

And then there are those who would like to limit it to freedom of worship… as in our churches but not in public.

200+ years ago, the definition of “secular” was “No established church.” Today, the definition of “secular” is “No mention of God on public property or in public events, or ideally, in polite company.” There’s a difference, and that’s NOT what the Founders intended.

The whole of world, everyone and everything is under Christ the King of the Universe.

If there is no established church, then the nation is not “under God”

Individuals may choose to recognize God, but the nation as an abstract political entity is not if there is no establishment of that state of affairs in the founding documents.

When was the last time you said “The Pledge of Allegiance?”
If you remember correctly, it has the words “under God.”

I think the National Anthem should be “God Bless America”.

Under God meant a body of lawmakers with consciences formed by valid religions and seekers of objective good. Its a statement of loyalty to the moral traditions that structured stable societies with increasing quality of life.

That tradition has become the enemy like a parent hated by a spoiled rotten kid

“Under God” is a relatively new item, it only showed up in the Pledge of Allegiance in about 1954. The Constitution specifically does not establish a state church. Many of the generation that framed the Constitution had come from backgrounds or abhorred being required to pay taxes to the state church whether they were members or not. This is what the establishment clause means, it is not an enshrinement of “christian” values or a bulwark against non-christian religions or secularism.

Unfortunately when the public abandons the morals founded in religions to form conscience a religion in the air forms conscience and the state is the religion.

These type of posts, almost without fail, point to external factors when it comes to the rise of secularism in the developed world. It’s as if people abandoning your religious viewpoint and sense of obligation is simply to be blamed on other people. This is what the issue is in the first place. You need to model and explain why faith is important. You need to figure out why people are being turned away from church. Maybe the way we’ve always done it is part of the issue.

My spouse is ending a term as the Pastor of a church that was in dire need of renewal. It’s small, but has about 10 very active children. Most of the oldest people would come and go in the middle of the service and yet children not being nailed to their seats was disrespectful and “not how we did it when I had kids”. Guess what, they can’t even model what they show disdain for! There was a very active renewal effort which my spouse was leading and successfully reaching many of the “younger” people. My spouse had established a tight bond with the children who were there. However, about a month ago, the church council voted to not renew my spouse’s call and the renewal efforts. This weekend those who opposed change, thinking they had succeeded in getting their way, where literally weeping and flabbergasted that 2/3s of the church plans to leave along with all of the children. What these much older people failed to see is that they failed to explain their faith adequately to their baby boom children, who are now grandparents, and not attending in great numbers.

Yes you do describe a common story well.

His a person lives deciple ship . is their understanding of the gospel.
