Youll find a little more competion for that child you want to adop(the one that was lucky enough to escape the womb, the one you would not object to beng aborted) than you would like-youll be competing with a significant number women who are inferttile because they had a abortion.

There you go playing that race card again. Here’s a news flash for you. Slavery involving selling living breathing human beings. Abortion involves the expulsion of parasitic tissue. Parasitic because a fetus cannot survive without living off nutrients from another being.

I was merely commenting on the fact you were makng the same old tired arguments the slaveocracy did in the 1830s. The truth is that there are lots of comparisons between those who defended slavery and those who defend abortion, Both love using euphanisms to desribe the horror they support. For instane Robert E Lee always refered to Slavery as “The Pecualiar insitution” And both derided the object of their inhumam treatment as being “less than human”

BTW-the unborn child is not a parasite and saying it is indicates an lack on your part of an even basic understanding of biology, But then elimnating a parasite sounds much more benign that kling an unborn child, doesnt it?

Do you mean if there are no unwanted, abused, neglected, and alive children out there for me to adopt, I see that as a good thing?
 
This time of year, many companies are being solicited for donations. Please refer to posts #256 & #257 for supporters of Girl’s, Inc. Write your letter to these companies (more information on other donators coming soon to a post near you!) asking them politely to reconsider their support of Girl’s Inc. Perhaps if someone knows of a similar program that does not teach abortion as an option, suggest that to the company instead.

Oh I have a comment for this thread. I remember reading this earlier this year and swearing off Bath and Body works and american girl (telling friends and family to do the same) but I forgot when I was shopping at the mall this weekend. I stepped into b and b and saw this sparkly bath goo that looked like it smelled good. I sniffed it and was like “Oohh, that’s a good one,” then I noticed the American Girl sign behind it. Needless to say, I did not buy one, but I am outraged thinking of all the people who did the same thing but didn’t have the background knowledge. We need to warn people about B and B in general. They know what they are doing just as much as American Girl does.

Just my two cents.

Thanks for the info. I just sent my email. I normally purchase several products from B&B to give as gifts… but not this year and I respectfully told them why.

Just to let you all know, this weekend my wife sent American Girl a letter… she said she is boycotting them. No more business from her or our daughter. email and snailmail, both.

You are making my skin crawl… do some research. Do you have any idea how many babies survive who are born at only 25 weeks gestation? Some even earlier. Look at the stats about how many are killed both before and after 24 weeks gestation. The technolgy is advancing all the time. Do you know that the “parasitic tissue” you refer to has the ability to feel extreme pain and that a doctor who performed abortions decided to film an abortion using an ultrasound to prove that an abortion was “nothing” what he actually saw was what is now called “The Silent Scream.” He became a Pro-life advocate. The ultrasound is available for viewing. If you are going to be Pro choice at least know what is involved in that choice. Make an informed choice. Know what actually happens in an abortion. Admit and accept the reality rather than lying to yourself to make it acceptable.

Abortionists make a whole lot of money on the backs of unborn babies, it could be compared to the money made by the sale of a human slave. The unborn baby depends completely on others for their survival, just like a newborn baby… just like a 6 month old baby… just like a two year old baby… they are all stages of developement, dependant on others for survival. to call a fetus “parasitic tissue” is disgusting and a term used for shock value. Why is it that my friend’s baby was born at 25 weeks gestation and was allowed all technology available, cared for and loved simply because he was wanted and is now 3 years old… while his peers could be killed a few weeks younger than him up until birth in the case of partial birth abortion, simply because they weren’t wanted and he was? I believe that the fetus has a civil right to life, regardless of religious beliefs of Americans. Life supercedes all other rights. It is the foundation for all civil rights.

Two nights ago CBS nightly news did a little segment on American Girl. They spoke about the boycott, and also mentioned that American Girl has decided not to renew it’s association with Girl’s Inc.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Here is the story. Apparently American Girl contacted CBS news to say that they had always planned to end their contract with Girls Inc. Dec. 26, 2005 all along. I just wonder if they would have renewed the contract without the boycott.

Um… I went to an all girls Catholic school… they showed us that silent scream video when I was 13… been there done that. What you guys are not grasping is that there ARE people out there who genuinely disagree with your position on abortion. You seem to think that if you show them enough of YOUR evidence, they will change their opinions.

And hey, I don’t think I have a right to tell you that you should have an abortion if it goes against your fundamental religious beliefs. I respect your right to make that choice. What I don’t think is that you should have the right to force that choice on other people–especially those that do not share your religious ideology.
