Totally agree with the first twoā€¦not too confident about the otherā€¦whoever loses will still be whiningā€¦and so will the supportersā€¦itā€™s go to the point politics rules many people livesā€¦sadly

Absolutely. Was talking with a person on he other side yesterday and that was one thing we could ardently agree onā€¦ this election canā€™t happen soon enough.

God, please help us. Does no one see what is happening? Hope not, but it looks like it might be a bloody mess no matter what the outcomeā€¦ does that make everyone feel better?
 
I have made a deal with my son that we will not watch broadcast television for the next three weeks ā€“ except football of course! šŸ˜ƒ

And I am voting as soon as possible.

And we are making sure our emergency preparedness stuff is in order.

Slight possibility of snow this week.

Slight possibility of anarchy after the election.

Still praying, and praying, and praying ā€“ not that MY candidate wins, but that US citizens stay calm, charitable, and level-headed. The level of vitriol and endless campaigning that has been expressed here and on the Catholic Match forums is sickening.

God help us allā€¦:signofcross:
 
Ha! There is no way this mess is sorted out by Christmas. Or in our lifetimes!
 
All the more reason why it is so important that American, especially CATHOLICS get out and vote.
 
It is a HUGE pet peeve of mine when someone tells me theyā€™re seriously considering **not **voting! :eek: :mad:

This is my upbringing ā€“ You vote. Period.

And I have fond memories of our frequent family gatherings, with all the aunts in the kitchen talking about their children, and all the uncles (and one or two of the oldest male cousins) sitting in the dining room arguing loudly about politics. Even when they all agreed with each other, it was still loud as each man shouted his opinion!

But no one ever came to blows. And there was never any name calling (except that my dad and my uncle always called each other ā€œflopā€). And opinions were always respected, although loudly rebuffed when disagreed with.

The way this election is playing out ā€“ and my goodness, even the way people on CAF are treating each other in the World News forum ā€“ is just beyond my understanding!

I got my ballot in the mail today and have already started filling it in, and will drop it off when Iā€™m done. I usually vote on election day, but thatā€™s just gonna be too difficult this year. In 2008 I had to wait over an hour, and my son (then just four years old) fell asleep on a table in the middle of the room.

The line circled the outer edge of the room, and he woke up just in time for me to vote. So he got to go into the booth with me and watch me vote. My dad would have been so proud that Iā€™m training the next generation! šŸ˜ƒ

Iā€™m with you. Iā€™m so stirred up, I quit watching after 9 pm except for EWTN and Iā€™ve seen some really beautiful, uplifting showsā€¦

The general population couldnā€™t care less, itā€™s just the media sensationalising the mud slinging ,the way you tear yourselves apart , the Bloopers and lack of real political policy debate , and amateurish behaviour of your candidates , anyone would think itā€™s a kardashian reality show, itā€™s embaressing to see you guys go through this ,

All I can say is, itā€™s not a normal election. At least itā€™s entertaining, in a way. But I often have to look away.
