Frankly your view looks like a very convenient excuse for doing nothing; impugn the motives of whatever military act you like, but from where I sit it’s your position that would have had Saddam Hussein and his rape-rooms and poison gas still in place. Not to mention Hitler and Tojo Hideki.
I’m sure the US’s former ally, Saddam Hussein, was not a great guy. He is a government leader so chances are slim he is very good. But it is well established that the US lied about conditions in Iraq. It is also well established that probably more than half a million Iraqi children were killed through the US’s embargo. It is a fact that our Secretary of State said this was acceptable for the goal of getting rid of one man. It is true that Iraq is now suffering greatly from violence and distress thanks to the war.

Destabilizing, bombing and killing in the name of good might work, but the evidence is flimsy. Relying on a government to tell the truth in regards to war seems rather dangerous.
Now there’s an interesting question: is pacifism more cowardice than sloth, or more sloth than cowardice?
Those are certainly not the only options. Pacifism would be brave if everyone else is for war. It takes courage to disagree with the masses when they want blood. They might turn on you. Pacifism usually shows vigor when the masses, unthinkingly and without any effort to discover the truth, want war. So pacifism can be neither sloth nor cowardice.

Well Canadians have now pulled out of this hell hole - enough of us have died - you Americans are on your own now - enjoy.

We ask our soldiers to risk their lives and we spend money we don’t have - then allow (even encourage!) China to reap the benefits?

What fools we are.
isn’t America trying to make all nations more equal to ourselves?Wouldn’t there be less jelousy towards the US?Wouldn’t that make other nations have more pride in themselves and be able to give more to the UN and help in the aid that we now give to so many poor nations of the world.Wouldn’t they be able to share the responsibilies with America which we spend so much to battle wars around the world? Are you afraid they may turn on us?Or ally with others to turn on us?Doesn’t America have to trust other nations upto the point where we start to see evil motives?

All countries operate in their own best interests.tHey give to a point where they no longer see a positive for their country and they get out.Can you blame them?America should be thankful that we are able to give. But we streached it about as far as we can.We risk our lives but we know that if we come home we will have it good in comparison to others. That’s the price you have to pay for your high standard of living.

Paciifism is looking out for one’s best interests. It doesn’t need to be sloth or cowardism.
