Americans Want Pro-Life Republicans Running House, Senate

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) – A majority of Americans say in a new poll released today that they want pro-life Republicans running the House and Senate instead of the current pro-abortion Democrats who control the majority and work with pro-abortion President Barack Obama.

When you live in New England like me, you often get pro-choice politicians running as both Democrats and Republicans. It’s a lose-lose situation.

I’m not a social conservative at all. I’m just someone who opposes abortion and the so-called “right” of life or death over an innocent baby granted by the law. Why can’t we have fiscally intelligent politicians with this viewpoint?

Instead, we get the jokes who ran Washington in the early 2000s and people like Harry Reid who are pro-life but terrible nearly everywhere else.

Correction: Harry Reid voted FOR Obamacare which allows for federal funding of abortions. I’d say he’s now changed his pro-life position.

Please let’s not call pro-abortion pro-‘choice.’

The baby has no choice in the matter, and if you look up the word ‘abortion’ in a dictionary, ‘choice’ is not listed as a synonym.

Do not let the opposition win the war on words and meaning.

Amen! Also, pro-choice implies “informed consent”. Not only does the baby in the womb not have a choice, but the mother rarely receives all of the information necessary to make an informed choice.😦

My only bumper sticker reads

“There can be no hope for a nation that kills its own children. Vote pro-life.”

I waved at 2 people in a car behind me today who were pointing at my sticker - not sure if they were in support or not but they didn’t flip me off so I assume they liked it.

I agree.

When I tell people on this forum I’m a Democrat, everyone jumps and shouts, but they don’t realize that the Republican party in Connecticut proudly advertises how it is “pro-abortion” 😦

My party membership is based on other issues, as both here support this evil.

Mark, I hope that it is permissible to discuss Catholic responsibilities in political life. The USCCB says:
In the Catholic Tradition, responsible citizenship is a virtue, and participation in political life is a moral obligation
Perhaps the moderator can clarify, but while political parties and specific candidates are probably off-limits, general discussion of Catholic teaching as applied to voting hopefully is not.

I noted in another thread - EWTN has a good Guide to Catholic Teaching and Voting.

I just put that in there because I don’t want anybody to get in trouble. I remember during the previous election season, the mods were very, very strict about it.

I would think discussing principles would be one thing, but candidates another altogether. (But I am just another guest here, so…)
