It should be fine to keep unless your co-worker is evil and put a curse on it. (Seriously, I am not being sarcastic.)

Our Lady is associated with the moon. St. Jacinta Marto called the moon “Our Lady’s Lamp” and in the Holy Cloak Novena to St. Joseph, Jesus is called “the Divine Sun” and Mary is called the “mystic moon”. And don’t forget in Revelation she has “the moon under her feet”.

So you basically have a beautiful piece of God’s creation that was set out to bathe in the rays of a celestial body also created and placed in the sky by God, and associated with Our Blessed Mother.
No problem.

I have some relatives on the in-law side who go for this stuff. Like giving expensive rocks and crystals when a baby is born because they say it will protect them or something. I tried arguing at first but now I just say thanks and whatever and put them in the display cabinet in the upstairs hallway. They’re just pretty rocks after all.

I have a collection of rocks and fossils of my own. But my rule of thumb is that I don’t buy stuff. Everything has a story to it which mostly means that I found them myself.

I have a beautiful crystal that hangs in my bathroom, in front or a high window. The light streams through it.

It is just beautiful. It throws light everywhere.

Just beautiful.

Yes, prismatic crystals are wonderful. I have several hanging in front of my windows.

I came home from a bad day of work to find the moonlight shining on my statue of the Blessed Mother that I keep by my steps, and I immediately thought of your comment. I had to stop and look at it for a while because I had never seen moonlight reflecting off of it in such a way - It made me feel like she was letting me know she was there.
