I am trying to put together a list of denomination’s/church’s OFFICIAL view on abortion (is it EVER permissible) and I have done pretty well finding this information from official church sites. However, I am having trouble finding the official Amish teaching/belief. It seems that most denominations (outside the Catholic Church of course) permit it under certain circumstances. It appears the Amish do not but so far I have just seen opinions. Is anyone here able to tell me the Amish view on this AND direct me to an official source of this information (not just another opinion)? Thanks!

As a whole, Amish are extremely pro-life. They are opposed to abortion and contraception in all cases and have very strong family structures and values. However, because they are made up of individual church communities, it is possible that some communities may not be as strict as others. Because of their church organization, you may not be able to find an “official” teaching on this subject.
