My SD explained it by saying that He can but he doesn’t. He doesn’t go against the laws of nature.
Not exactly, he has went against the laws of nature many times in the bible, oddly though, not in modern times ( that I know of anyway).

I’m reminded of St. Peregrine and how the crucified Christ healed his gangrenous leg so it wouldn’t have to be amputated. Perhaps this is how our Blessed Lord works most often in these cases, healing the wound before amputation would be necessary.

I’ve again been researching this topic and still can’t find out why God won’t heal amputees. There are some answers but they aren’t good answers.

According to the International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, Peter didn’t even cut off that guys ear all the way. According to this, it was only partially severed which means that even Jesus never, as far as we know, resorted a body part.

Anyone want to take this and help me?

Despite what the ISBE says, every verse I find online in all the Bibles say his ear was cut off. Not partially cut off not cut, but cut off. Anyone?
