That’s just horrible.
Such words of hatred.
Shocking. But I suppose people really feel that way.
Motherhood is a consequence of her lousy decision to have unprotected sex.
Wow.

I suspect that Amy Brenneman’s attitude is the norm among women today. The idea that most women who have abortions suffer mental breakdowns over their “choice” is as outdated as the idea that women who are raped don’t get pregnant because their body just “shuts it down”.

Thousands of women really do regret their abortions. The whole situation is very sad. I don’t think she has really faced it yet.

She’s had 30 years to live with the consequences of her “choice”. It’s just my opinion, but I don’t see anything changing now. 🤷

No,I would say she is more the exception than she is the rule.

Poor woman.

But the fact that someone may not regret doing something wrong does not, of course, unwrong it!

I totally disagree with that rather sweeping generalization
There have been 58 million abortions since Roe v. Wade. I think we’d notice if there were that many mentally unstable women roaming about everywhere.

There are tons of websites filled with stories of women who deeply regret their abortions.

Post abortive women aren’t mentally unstable,as you put it.The majority suffer in silence over their enormous regret over having an abortion. So,you may not be aware,in fact maybe the woman you sit next to in church is one of those women.

How then to account for the numerous sites dedicated to post abortion trauma?Additionally, the post abortion ministries, silent no more, etc?
Personally, I think the pro-life side has a tendency to uncritically accept any possible argument in their favor, without asking too closely whether or not the argument is actually true.

Just look at the past attempts to connect abortion with physical health problems, e.g., the claim that abortion leads to an increased risk of breast cancer. Just because something makes for a good pro-life argument doesn’t mean that it is actually true.

So,you believe that all the countless post abortive women, who have reconciled their decision with God,through healing ministries, being a voice for life through various proline ministries, are merely delusional about their regret?

Not at all.

What I believe is that these “countless” post-abortive women can in fact be counted, and if they were to be counted, it would turn out that they are in the minority of women who have had abortions.

Actually, you are being naive.I have watched documentaries from the March for Life, they did a program titledOn the Streets… They interviewed two groups of women. One group dealing with crisis pregnancies, who either kept their baby or adopted the or baby out. After the fact, they were at peace with their decisions to give life to their child.the adoptions were open,so they were still involved in their children’s live to some extent.
The second group, women who chose to abort. The sorrow and regret was palpable. Many fell into alcoholism, drug abuse, etc.
Additionally, they interviewed women there supporting the prolife movement who were atheists, humanists, religion, didn’t even factor into their understanding of the dignity of life in the womb. They knew that intuitively.Abortion is counting unitive to a woman’s nature.
So,believe what you want, however you are off the mark.
