This May 13 these two young children will be canonized as Catholic saints by Pope Francis, who will be at Fatima then at its 100th anniversary. Francisco died when he was 10, and Jacinta died when she was 9 years old. Since they saw the Virgin Mary there in 1917, the shrine at Fatima, Portugal, has become one of the world's Catholic shrines where millions go every year.
The third child who saw the Virgin Mary at Fatima in 1917, Lucia, died in 2005. She may be beatified soon, the first major step in her canonization.
