Hi catholicanswers
I just wanted to apologize. I’m not sure if anyone remembers but a few months ago when I was more active here I said some very rude and uncharitable things to members of this forum, accusing them of spiritual pride, calling them unloving, etc. - ironic that in doing so I myself was the prideful and unloving one.
I just wanted to apologize. Sure, there is some spiritual pride here, just as, I’m afraid, there will always be among the faithful - it’s a very common sin that the vast majority of us battle with at least sometimes, if not frequently. But those who I “lashed out at” did not necessarily exhibit it: rather I’d see their post and read my own b.s. into it.
So yeah I just want to apologize to any members whose feelings I’ve hurt. Quite frankly I think a big part of my meanness was that so many of you are so vigorous in your faith and I was envious of that vigor and wanted the path of Christ to be easier than it actually is. Of course we must remember to be kind and gentle in our discussions but regardless my actions were very wrong.
Please don’t post in this thread with “oh it’s such a good thing that you’re apologizing!” I very much appreciate the sentiment and the love that so many of you show but I don’t want to be puffed up with pride either.
Thanks!
P.S. Please pray for my father that he returns to the fullness of the Faith. I posted a prayer intention a while back asking you to pray for my family and guess what? The prayers worked. My mother is returning, going to confession this very week, and naturally my siblings with her (my brother, thanks be to God, never lapsed, though, being a little lad, he wasn’t going to mass because the rest of us weren’t). I think my dad is coming closer, slowly but surely. Please pray for him - he’s a very good person btw, just cut off from the Church.
