Hi all, I am a Catholic teenager in a Protestant school. I am currently doing a science project on how pain affects the brain.
I have been giving out mazes to people to do, one under normal circumstances and one under physical discomfort (I.e., their non writing hand in a bowl of ice water).

Our teacher requires a spiritual analogy (preferably from the Bible)along with a verse that sums up my experiment. Seeing as I am the only catholic, I want a good strong analogy to prove that Catholics know scripture as well as they do 😉

So far the people completing the mazes with their hand in ice water have slower times, if that helps.

SOOOO any ideas? I would appreciate any help as I have sorta hit a brick wall.

“Your skills at completing the maze under normal circumstances represents your soul nourished by the Eucharist. You have a confident focus and know your true end. Your skills under discomfort represent your soul deprived of the Eucharist - confused, struggling to find your way to the proper end.”

That won’t go over well but I had to say it! lol

That’s a great idea! Unfortunately I do need a passing grade… Haha. Maybe a generalized “Jesus” could be substituted?

Boblandon wants a witty theorem : **“Our teacher requires a spiritual analogy (preferably from the Bible) along with a verse that sums up my experiment.”

It seems like you are asking us to help you “Cheat” on your homework.
I think it would better for you to come up with your own analogy.
This is what school is for, and especially at a Christian school.

But, I would tend to look for something that analogizes being HOT for Jesus (with the ice water).

I should have clarified that on the original post- we are allowed to use outside sources on the project. So no cheating 🙂

Matthew 5:30

“And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away”

lol

The ice water could represent the sin in your life slowing down your spiritual progress.

Bible verse Matthew 11:28-30: “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
