Science is often considered superior to philosophy because of its resounding success. This is due to its analytic approach which seems to demonstrate that atomism is the best method of understanding reality. Yet it is absurd to regard the parts as more significant than the whole or the beginning of a process as more informative than the end.

Philosophy is superior because it encompasses science. It provides the context in which all human investigation takes place: the basis, the principles and the goals of the quest for knowledge. Modern medicine is an example of the need for synthesis: to consider the person as a whole rather than just the symptoms.

Religion is superior to science because it is concerned with persons rather than things. The holistic approach to existence is essential if it is not to be deprived of all meaning, value and purpose. GIGO!
