I recall some years ago National Geographic magazine covered this same topic in a great pictorial series.
One struck me quite profoundly as a polar bear repeatedly ran down a snowy embankment and slid across a pond of ice. Looked like fun to me.

I bet they miss the snow!

Too bad they can’t make snow in some type of enclosure for them to play in. I am glad they brought the snow in for these bears.
